Calculatedly Reckless
A devotional for Wednesday
“We love because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
Reflection:
God’s love isn’t random or careless, but it sure looks reckless to the watching world. Who gives grace to people who spit in their face? Who runs after those who ran away? Only a Father whose love is both wise and wildly free. When Jesus says the Father divided His estate without hesitation, that’s divine generosity in motion. It’s not approval of sin; it’s a preview of grace. The Father’s love goes first, gives first, and risks rejection. That’s the kind of love that changes the world: intentional, abundant, and beautifully “reckless.”
Question/Challenge:
Does your love ever look “reckless” to others because it’s the kind that doesn’t make sense apart from Jesus?
