Your Table Is Already in Front of You

A devotional for Thursday

“For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

We sometimes imagine living on mission as something we need to add to our already-busy lives. But what if God has already placed the opportunities right in front of us? Your workplace is a table. Your neighborhood is a table. Your classroom is a table. Your family and friend group are tables too. These are places where you already have relationships, influence, and opportunities to extend the grace you've received from Jesus. You don't need a microphone or ministry title to participate in God's mission. You need eyes that notice people. Who sits alone? Who seems discouraged? Who needs someone to listen? Who might need an invitation? God has already scattered His people into places pastors and church programs could never reach. Wherever He's placed you, He's given you a table.
