You Weren't Meant to Do This Alone

A devotional for Friday

Hebrews 10:24-25
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

The Christian life has never been meant to be lived alone. We need people who encourage us when we're tired, challenge us when we're drifting, pray with us when we're struggling, and celebrate with us when God is moving. We also need people who know us well enough to tell us the truth. That's part of why Christian community matters so much. We serve one another, forgive one another, carry one another's burdens, teach one another, honor one another, and encourage one another. Those things are difficult to do from a distance. Sunday worship matters, but deeper relationships give us opportunities to actually practice life together. That's the heart behind Table Groups: places where we can know, grow, serve, and share together. Spiritual maturity isn't merely about how I'm growing. As part of the body of Christ, I also have a responsibility to help you grow.

Question/Challenge:
Who knows you well enough to help you grow spiritually, and are you intentionally making room for that relationship?
