When the Celebration Ends

A devotional for Monday

Acts 1:1
“In my first book I told you… about everything Jesus began to do and teach…”

Easter Sunday can feel full, joyful, meaningful, and powerful. But then Monday comes. Life resumes. Responsibilities return. And sometimes we’re left wondering if anything actually changed. Acts begins right in that space: the days after the resurrection, when life is moving forward again. Luke reminds us that Jesus’ work didn’t end at the resurrection. In fact, it was just the beginning. That same truth applies to us. Easter isn’t meant to be a single moment we celebrate once a year. It’s an invitation into a new way of living every day. The resurrection changes not just our eternity, but our present. It means Jesus is still at work, still moving, still inviting us to participate. Even in the ordinary rhythms of life, God is active. The question isn’t whether Easter mattered. It’s whether we will carry it into the days that follow.

Question/Challenge:
What would it look like for you to carry the reality of Easter into your everyday life this week?
