We Need Each Other

A devotional for Thursday

1 Corinthians 11:1
And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.

Following Jesus was never designed to be a solo journey. We belong to a global Church stretching across countries, cultures, and generations, but we also need people close enough to actually know us. We need a local church where we worship and serve. We need smaller communities where we can be honest, ask questions, and encourage one another. And we need individual relationships with people who challenge us to grow. Discipleship happens when followers of Jesus help one another become more like Him. Sometimes we're the person who needs someone to walk beside us. Other times, God asks us to become that person for someone else. Often, both are happening at the same time. Spiritual maturity isn't about reaching the point where we no longer need others. It's learning to link arms with other believers as we follow Jesus together.

Question/Challenge:
Who is helping you grow closer to Jesus, and who are you helping grow closer to Him?
