Trusting God When It Makes No Sense

A devotional for Monday
Jeremiah 32:27
"I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?"
Jeremiah was sitting in prison while his city was under siege. Everything around him pointed toward defeat and destruction. Then God told him to buy a piece of land in the very place that was about to be conquered. It sounded like the worst investment imaginable. But Jeremiah obeyed because his trust was in God, not in circumstances. Sometimes God asks us to act in faith before we see how the story will end. Obedience can feel confusing when the situation around us looks hopeless. We often want clarity before we move forward, but faith often requires movement before clarity arrives. God’s question to Jeremiah is the same question He asks us: “Is anything too hard for me?” When we focus on our circumstances, the answer seems uncertain. But when we focus on God’s power, the answer becomes clear. The strength of our faith is not found in our understanding. It is found in the One we trust.
What situation in your life feels confusing or impossible right now? Spend time in prayer today asking God to help you trust His power more than your understanding.
