Those People

Those People

A devotional for Friday

Acts 11:18
“God has also given the Gentiles the privilege of repenting of their sins and receiving eternal life.”

Most of us can think of “those people.” The people we struggle to understand. The people we avoid. The people we quietly assume are unreachable. Acts 11 asks us to sit with an uncomfortable possibility: what if God loves them more than we realized? What if He is already drawing them? This doesn’t mean convictions disappear. It doesn’t mean everything becomes acceptable. But it does mean we refuse to treat people as beyond hope. Jesus entered places others avoided. The Spirit formed a church that crossed boundaries. The Gospel still does that today. Our witness becomes powerful when people experience us as good news instead of suspicion. God has always been in the business of making family out of unlikely people.

Question/Challenge:
Who comes to mind when you hear the phrase “those people” and what would it look like to pray for them this week?
