The Purpose of Waiting

A devotional for Tuesday
Acts 1:4
“Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised…”
Waiting is uncomfortable. We want clarity, movement, and resolution. But Jesus tells His disciples to wait. Not because nothing is happening, but because something important is being prepared. Waiting seasons can feel like delays, but they are often where God does His deepest work. Growth happens in the in-between moments, the space between what has been and what is coming next. The disciples had experienced the resurrection, but they had not yet received the power they needed to live it out. In the same way, we often find ourselves in seasons where we know God has done something, but we’re still waiting to see what comes next. These moments require trust. They invite us to lean in, not rush ahead. God is not inactive in your waiting. He is forming you, preparing you, and positioning you for what’s ahead.
Question/Challenge:
Where are you currently in a season of waiting, and how might God be working in that space?
