Stop Looking Up, Start Living Out

A devotional for Friday

Acts 1:11
“Why are you standing here staring into heaven?”

After Jesus ascends, the disciples are left looking up into the sky. It’s an understandable response, but the angels gently redirect them. There is work to be done. Sometimes we get stuck in a similar place. We look back at past experiences or wait for the next big moment with God. Meanwhile, the life He’s calling us to live is happening right in front of us. Faith isn’t just about what we experience. It’s about how we live. The resurrection isn’t meant to leave us standing still. It’s meant to move us forward. God calls us to live faithfully in the ordinary moments of life. To show kindness, to serve others, to listen well, to act with integrity. This is where the power of the resurrection becomes visible. Not just in big moments, but in daily obedience.
