Stand Up. We’re Both Human.

A devotional for Wednesday
Acts 10:26
“Stand up! I’m a human being just like you!”
Cornelius fell at Peter’s feet. Peter lifted him up. It’s a small moment, but it carries enormous weight. Peter could have accepted the distance. Instead, he emphasized shared humanity. That’s hard work. Sometimes we elevate people. Sometimes we diminish them. But Jesus consistently moved toward people as image-bearers, not categories. Peter was learning that the ground is level at the foot of the cross. No one enters by status. No one earns extra access. No one is too clean or too far gone. Grace humbles all of us. The Spirit reminds us that every person we encounter carries a story, wounds, hopes, and the same need for Jesus that we carry ourselves. That perspective changes how we speak, invite, disagree, and love.
Question/Challenge:
Who needs to experience dignity and compassion from you this week?
