Springs in the Valley

A devotional for Wednesday
Scripture:
Psalm 84:6
“When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs.”
Reflection:
Valleys are unavoidable in the life of faith. The psalm does not deny sorrow, grief, or loss. Instead, it assumes them. The promise is not escape, but transformation. When we walk with God, even places of pain can become places of renewal. This does not mean suffering suddenly feels good. It means suffering is not wasted. God meets us in valleys with provision we could not have imagined beforehand. Tears do not disqualify us from joy; they prepare the soil for it. Springs appear not because the valley disappears, but because God is present there. Often we only recognize the springs after we have passed through. God is at work even when our vision is limited by pain. The valley does not define the journey. God’s faithfulness does.
Question/Challenge:
Where might God be creating life in a place you’ve labeled only as loss?
