Sometimes God Shakes Things

A devotional for Thursday

Acts 16:26
“Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake…”

When the earthquake came, it wasn't random. God was at work. The shaking opened doors, loosened chains, and created an opportunity for transformation. We usually don't enjoy being shaken. We prefer stability and predictability. Yet sometimes God uses disruption to accomplish something greater than we can see. He may shake our pride, our self-reliance, our comfort, or our false sense of security. Not every hardship comes from God, but God can use every hardship. What feels like a setback may become a turning point. What feels like chaos may become freedom. Looking back, many believers can identify seasons that felt like earthquakes but ultimately became moments of growth and grace. God's shaking is often connected to God's freeing.

Question/Challenge:
Is there an area of your life where God might be using disruption to bring freedom?
