Someone Is Listening

A devotional for Wednesday

Acts 16:25
ā€œ...and the other prisoners were listening to them.ā€

Paul and Silas probably had no idea who was listening that night. They weren't performing. They weren't trying to impress anyone. They were simply worshiping God. Yet their worship became a witness. The prisoners heard something different. Instead of anger, they heard praise. Instead of despair, they heard hope. People pay attention to how believers respond when life hurts. Anyone can speak about faith when circumstances are favorable. But faith displayed in suffering has a unique power. It shows that our trust in God is real. Your response to hardship may be encouraging someone more than you realize. Your steady faith might become the evidence someone needs to believe that God is trustworthy. Someone is listening.

Question/Challenge:
Who might be watching your response to difficulty right now?
