Small Seeds, Great Things

A devotional for Thursday

Mark 4:31–32
"It is like a mustard seed... though it is the smallest of all seeds... it becomes the largest of all garden plants."

We often underestimate small acts of obedience because we overestimate dramatic moments. But Jesus chose the mustard seed to remind us that God's Kingdom rarely begins with something impressive. A simple invitation. A quiet prayer. A shared meal. A kind word. A Bible verse sent at just the right time. These moments may seem insignificant, but in God's hands they become something much larger than we could imagine. You may never see the full impact of the seeds you plant. That doesn't make them any less valuable. Faithfulness isn't measured by the size of the seed. It's measured by the willingness to sow it.
