Refocused, Not Rejected

A devotional for Wednesday
Acts 1:7
“The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times…”
The disciples asked a question we’ve all asked in some form: “When will things finally be right?” They wanted clarity about timing and outcomes. Instead of answering directly, Jesus gently redirects them. He doesn’t shame their question; He shifts their focus. This is how God often works with us. We come with questions about timing, outcomes, and control. We want to know when things will change or how everything will work out. But God often invites us to trust Him with those details and focus instead on what He’s calling us to do right now. His redirection is not rejection. It’s an invitation to live with purpose instead of anxiety. When we release our grip on needing all the answers, we create space to be present and faithful where we are.
Question/Challenge:
What question about “when” do you need to release so you can focus on what God is asking of you today?
