Prepare the Soil

A devotional for Tuesday
Colossians 4:5–6
"Live wisely among those who are not believers... Let your conversation be gracious..."
A farmer doesn't simply toss seeds onto hard ground and hope for the best. The soil is prepared first. In much the same way, relationships prepare the ground for the Gospel. Kindness softens hearts. Listening builds trust. Serving others creates opportunities for meaningful conversations. Most people aren't looking for someone to argue with them. They're looking for someone who genuinely cares. As we love people well, God often prepares their hearts to receive what He wants to plant. We don't force growth, but we can faithfully prepare the soil through the way we live.
Question/Challenge:
How can you cultivate trust with someone before trying to share truth?
