Obedience Doesn't Always Feel Easy

A devotional for Tuesday
Acts 16:22-24
“They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison.”
One of the hardest truths in this story is that Paul and Silas were suffering because they obeyed God. They weren't in prison because of sin or poor decisions. They were there because they followed God's leading. Sometimes we quietly believe that obedience should make life easier. Yet Scripture repeatedly shows faithful people walking through difficult circumstances. Following Jesus does not guarantee comfort. It guarantees His presence. When hardship comes, we can be tempted to question whether we've missed God's will. But some of life's hardest seasons happen while we're right where God wants us to be. The challenge is learning to trust Him when circumstances don't make sense. God's faithfulness is not measured by how easy our path becomes. It's measured by His presence with us every step of the way.
Question/Challenge:
Have you ever mistaken a difficult season for God abandoning you? How does this story challenge that thinking?
