Mission Isn't a Job Title

A devotional for Tuesday

Matthew 28:19
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations..."

When many people hear the word missionary, they picture someone living overseas, learning a new language, and serving in a distant culture. While those missionaries are important, Jesus' command was given to every believer. Mission is not a career path for a few people. It is the identity of everyone who follows Jesus. Teachers, nurses, students, accountants, mechanics, stay-at-home parents, coaches, and retirees are all sent people. God places us in specific neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and communities for a reason. The mission field is often much closer than we realize. The question isn't whether you've been sent. The question is whether you're living like someone who has been sent.
