Keep Doing What You've Always Done

A devotional for Tuesday

"But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room...He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God."
Daniel 6:10 (NLT)

Daniel's response to the crisis is almost surprising in its simplicity. He didn't panic. He didn't negotiate. He didn't hide his faith. He simply kept doing what he'd always done. His prayer life wasn't created by the crisis; it carried him through the crisis. We often wait until life falls apart before seeking God with urgency. Daniel reminds us that consistent faith is built long before the emergency arrives. Prayer wasn't Daniel's last resort; it was his daily rhythm. The habits we develop during peaceful seasons often become the lifeline that holds us steady during painful ones. Faithfulness isn't usually dramatic. It's choosing to trust God again today. Then tomorrow. Then the next day. Ordinary obedience, repeated over time, becomes extraordinary faith.

Question:
What spiritual habit do you need to strengthen before you desperately need it?
