God Is Bigger Than Our Boxes

God Is Bigger Than Our Boxes

A devotional for Tuesday

Acts 10:15
“Do not call something impure if God has made it clean.”

Peter’s challenge was not that he lacked conviction. His challenge was that he confused faithfulness with familiarity. God was doing something Peter had never experienced before. The vision of the sheet wasn’t really about food...it was about people. God was revealing that His grace extended further than Peter imagined. That required Peter to loosen his grip on assumptions that had felt sacred for years. We do this too. We create good boxes and bad boxes. Safe boxes and unsafe boxes. People we believe are open to God and people we quietly assume never will be. But the Kingdom keeps spilling over our lines. Jesus consistently walked into spaces others avoided. Not to affirm everything, but to bring restoration. The Spirit leads us outward, not inward. God is bigger than our categories and more creative than our expectations.

Question/Challenge:
Where might God be working in places or people you least expect?
