God Doesn’t Always Remove the Storm

A devotional for Friday
Psalm 34:19
“The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”
We often define rescue as escape. We want God to remove the storm, fix the problem, or make the difficulty disappear. But Psalm 34 reminds us that even the righteous face trouble. The difference is not the absence of struggle; it’s the presence of God within it. God’s rescue often looks like walking with us through the storm rather than pulling us out of it. He provides shelter, strength, and direction when things feel overwhelming. He steadies us when the winds pick up. He carries us when we don’t have the strength to keep going. And sometimes, on the other side of the storm, we find beauty we never would have seen otherwise. His faithfulness becomes clearer, and our trust grows deeper. You are not alone in what you’re facing. God is with you, and He is actively working, even if it doesn’t look the way you expected.
Question/Challenge:
Where do you need to shift your focus from asking God to remove the storm to trusting Him to carry you through it?
