God at the Center, Not the Top

A devotional for Wednesday

Scripture: Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus.”

Reflection:

We often talk about putting God “first” in our lives. But God was never meant to be first on a list. He is meant to be the center of everything. Lists separate life into compartments. Relationship weaves through all of it. When God is just first, He can still be isolated from the rest. But when God is central, every decision, conversation, and responsibility flows from that connection. It’s the difference between visiting God and living with God. Just like in a healthy family, love influences everything without constant reminders. You don’t need to think, “I should care about them right now.” You already do. Life with God works the same way. He’s not a task to complete but a presence to walk with. This kind of faith is less about squeezing God into your schedule and more about bringing Him into your everyday moments.

Question/Challenge:

Where today can you pause and simply acknowledge God’s presence in something you’re already doing?
