Get in the Word

A devotional for Tuesday

Colossians 3:9-10
Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

If we want to become more like Jesus, we have to learn to know Him. Scripture gives us more than information about God; it continually reshapes the way we understand Him, ourselves, and the world around us. That's why spending time in God's Word is such an important habit of discipleship. We hear it. We read it. We study it. We memorize it. We meditate on it. And perhaps most importantly, we apply it. The goal isn't simply knowing more Bible verses. It's allowing God's truth to become part of us. Over time, Scripture begins showing up in our decisions, conversations, relationships, and reactions. We start recognizing when our instincts don't match the way of Jesus. God's Word becomes one of the ways He continually renews us and forms us into His image.

Question/Challenge:
What could you change this week to make time in God's Word an intentional part of your day?
