Gathered for a Purpose

A devotional for Monday

Mark 4:26–27
"The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground..."

Gathering is a gift, but it was never meant to be the destination. We gather to worship, pray, learn, and encourage one another because God is preparing us for what comes next. Every sermon, every song, every conversation, and every prayer is like receiving seed for the week ahead. If we leave it sitting in our pockets, it accomplishes very little. But when we carry what we've received into our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and friendships, God begins to use it. Church isn't simply where we receive; it's where we're equipped. Every Sunday is preparation for Monday. God gathers His people so He can scatter them into the world with hope, truth, and love.
