Freedom Inside Relationship

A devotional for ThursdayScripture: 2 Corinthians 3:17 “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”Reflection: Some people secretly fear that a close relationship with God will make life smaller. They imagine constant restriction, pressure, or disapproval. But love does not suffocate. It liberates. Think about the healthiest relationships in your life. Those relationships don’t control every move; they create security and trust. God relates to us the same way. He does not micromanage our every step like a dictator. Instead, He forms our hearts so we can walk wisely in freedom. His Spirit guides more than it dictates. We aren’t following a tightrope path where one misstep ruins everything. We are walking with a Father who teaches us how to live well. Freedom in Christ is not independence from God, but confidence within relationship. The closer we are to Him, the more fully alive we become. Grace removes fear so love can grow. Question/Challenge: Where might God be inviting you to trust His guidance instead of anxiously trying to get everything “exactly right”?
