Freed From Fear, Not Always From Circumstances

A devotional for Wednesday

Psalm 34:4
“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.”

We often pray for God to change our situation. We want relief, clarity, or resolution. But this verse highlights something different: God frees us from fear. That means the situation may not change immediately, but something within us does. Fear can be just as overwhelming as the problem itself. It clouds our thinking, steals our peace, and keeps us stuck. But when God meets us, He brings a different kind of freedom. He replaces fear with trust. He steadies our hearts even when life feels uncertain. This doesn’t mean we won’t feel afraid at times. It means fear no longer controls us. God’s presence becomes greater than the pressure we’re facing. When we bring our fears to Him honestly, He meets us there. And slowly, we begin to experience a deeper peace that isn’t dependent on everything working out the way we want.

Question/Challenge:
What fear do you need to bring honestly before God today instead of carrying it on your own?
