Encountering Jesus

A devotional for Thursday

Matthew 28:9
“As they went, Jesus met them…”

The women didn’t just hear about the resurrection, they encountered Jesus Himself. That moment changed everything. There is a difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Him. It’s possible to hear sermons, read Scripture, and talk about faith without ever truly encountering Him. But Jesus meets us when we move toward Him. He meets us in our questions, our doubts, and our searching. And when we encounter Him, something shifts. The women responded by falling at His feet and worshiping Him. Their encounter led to surrender. Jesus is not just inviting you to learn more about Him; He is inviting you to know Him personally.
