A devotional for Tuesday

Acts 2:4
“And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit…”

The Holy Spirit empowered the believers to do what they could not do on their own. That’s one of the clearest themes of Pentecost. God’s Spirit does not simply comfort us; it strengthens and equips us. The disciples were ordinary people with limitations, fears, and weaknesses. Yet when the Spirit filled them, they were able to step into God’s purpose with boldness and power. We often try to live the Christian life through sheer effort and willpower. But eventually we run out of strength. The Spirit empowers us beyond ourselves. He helps us love when it’s hard, remain faithful in uncertainty, and speak truth with courage. God never intended for us to follow Him alone. The same Spirit that empowered the early church is still at work today.
