Don't Let the Prison Silence Your Praise

A devotional for Friday
Acts 16:25
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God…”
Midnight is more than a time of day. In Scripture, it often represents darkness, uncertainty, and moments when hope feels far away. Paul and Silas weren't singing from a comfortable sanctuary. They were bruised, chained, exhausted, and sitting in a prison cell. Nothing about their circumstances suggested worship. Yet worship rose from their hearts anyway. Their praise was not based on what was happening around them. It was rooted in who God was. Sometimes we assume worship is easiest when life is going well. But some of the most powerful worship happens when faith chooses to trust God in the middle of pain. Worship in difficult seasons doesn't deny reality. It declares that God remains faithful even when life is hard. Midnight worship is often the strongest testimony of all.
Question/Challenge:
What "midnight" situation are you facing right now, and how might you choose worship in the middle of it?
