Don't Hold Your Breath

A devotional for Thursday
James 2:26
"A body that doesn't breathe is dead. In the same way faith that does nothing is dead."
Imagine trying to live by only inhaling or only exhaling. Neither works. One leaves you puffed up. The other leaves you exhausted. Spiritually, the same thing happens. If we only gather, we can become inward-focused and forget the mission. If we only serve without being renewed by God, we eventually burn out. Healthy disciples learn to live in both rhythms. They receive God's grace and then extend it. They worship and then witness. They gather and then scatter. This isn't a balancing act; it's the rhythm of life in Christ.
Question/Challenge:
Are you more likely to neglect gathering or scattering, and what step could you take toward a healthier rhythm?
