Be Still Long Enough to Listen

A devotional for Wednesday
Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
Prayer isn't about performing for God or finding exactly the right words. It's a conversation. We can come to God honestly, bringing Him our gratitude, fear, frustration, questions, needs, and hopes. But healthy conversation also involves listening. That's often the harder part. Our lives are filled with noise, notifications, responsibilities, opinions, and constant input. Being still can feel almost unnatural. Yet intentional prayer creates space for us to pay attention to what God may be doing within us. Sometimes we need to stop talking long enough to listen. We aren't trying to force God to speak on command. We're simply becoming available and attentive to His presence. Spiritual maturity includes learning to recognize His voice and allowing Him to shape our hearts.
Question/Challenge:
Spend five quiet minutes with God today without asking Him for anything. Simply be still and listen.
