When Grace Runs Toward You
A devotional for Monday
“While he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son…”
Luke 15:20
Reflection:
Most of us expect God to wait for us to clean up before we come home. But Jesus turns that picture upside down. The Father doesn’t wait on the porch with crossed arms; He runs down the road with open arms. That’s the heart of the gospel. God doesn’t just accept the repentant; He pursues them. The Father’s love is extravagant, even scandalous by religious standards. He breaks every cultural and legal expectation to get to His lost child. That’s not weakness. That’s holy strength.
Question/Challenge:
Where do you need to stop running from God and start letting Him run to you?
