Who Is My Neighbor?
A devotional for Tuesday
“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man…? The one who showed mercy.”
Luke 10:36–37
Introduction:
When Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan, He flipped the question upside down. The issue wasn’t who counts as a neighbor. It was whether we’re living like one. The Samaritan didn’t see boundaries, labels, or convenience; he saw a need and stepped in with mercy.
Reflection:
Neighboring is less about geography and more about compassion. The person beside you in traffic, at work, or online might just be your “Jerusalem.” Mercy starts there.
Question:
Who around you needs mercy this week? How can you show up instead of passing by?
