Partnering With Peace
A devotional for Wednesday
Scripture
“Make every effort to be found living peaceful lives…”
2 Peter 3:14
Reflection
Sometimes we wait for peace as though it will simply drop into our laps. But Scripture paints peace as something we actively pursue. Jesus gives peace, but we cultivate it by how we live, speak, and respond to the world around us. The early believers weren’t called to hide from conflict. They were called to demonstrate God’s wholeness in the middle of it. That call hasn’t changed. We don’t just receive peace; we partner with Christ to build it.
Living in peace means aligning our character with the Holy Spirit. It means choosing patience when frustration would be easier. It means responding with gentleness in environments shaped by fear or anger. It means seeking reconciliation, even when pride whispers that we’re right. Peace becomes visible every time we restore what is broken rather than escalate what is tense. In these everyday choices, we become evidence of Christ’s kingdom.
Question/Challenge
Where can you “make every effort” to bring peace into a relationship, conversation, or situation this week?
