Love Has an Address
A devotional for Wednesday
Scripture:
“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah… a ruler of Israel… will come from you on my behalf.”
Micah 5:2 (NLT)
Reflection:
God’s love is not vague or theoretical. It has an address. Bethlehem was not impressive or powerful, yet it was chosen as the place where God would enter the world. This tells us that God’s love often shows up in unexpected places and through ordinary means. God did not shout His love from a palace; He whispered it in a manger. Love that has an address means God shows up in real locations, real people, and real stories. It means God’s promises are not abstract ideas but tangible realities. Love stepped into history, into flesh, into vulnerability. When God promised love, He didn’t send instructions. He sent Himself. That same God still shows up in specific moments of our lives, not just spiritual ones. God’s love meets us where we actually are, not where we pretend to be. Bethlehem reminds us that God’s love comes close, even when we least expect it.
Question:
Where might God be trying to meet you right now, and are you overlooking it because it doesn’t look impressive or obvious?
