The God Who Searches

Pastor Thomas Crummer   -

A devotional for Monday

“Suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search carefully until she finds it?”
Luke 15:8

Reflection:
When something precious goes missing, you don’t just shrug and move on. You turn the lights on, move the furniture, and don’t stop until you find it. That’s the heart of God: relentless pursuit. The woman in Jesus’ parable mirrors the Father’s passion for what’s lost. He searches carefully, not casually. He sees infinite worth in the one who’s wandered. God’s love doesn’t grow dim in your darkest places; that’s exactly where He shines His light brightest.

Question/Challenge:
Where might God be sweeping the corners of your life, trying to help you see that He hasn’t given up on you?
