Repentance Redefined
A devotional for Wednesday
“‘I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you.”’”
Luke 15:18
Reflection:
The word repent can carry heavy baggage. For some, it’s tied to guilt or shame, a word shouted instead of whispered. But repentance isn’t a punishment; it’s an invitation. It’s not about fear of hell; it’s about a hunger for home. True repentance is a turning, a change in direction and in perception. It’s the moment we see reality the way God does. Every time we repent, we aren’t proving our failure; we’re participating in renewal. Heaven rejoices because repentance means the Kingdom is breaking in.
Question/Challenge:
What’s one area where you need a “180” – a change of heart, habit, or perspective? What would it look like to start walking home in that area today?
