The Bread That Satisfies
A devotional for Wednesday
Introduction:
We often ask Jesus to give us what we need – peace, purpose, provision. But He doesn’t just give bread. He is the bread. Everything our souls crave is found not in what He offers, but in who He is.
Scripture:
“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’”
John 6:35 (NIV)
Reflection:
Jesus invites us to a table where the meal is Himself – His presence, His Word, His Spirit. When we feed on lesser things, we stay restless. But when we draw close to Him, our hunger finally meets its match.
Question/Challenge:
Are you seeking Jesus for what He gives or for who He is? Take five minutes today in silence – not asking, not striving – just being with Him.
